About the Mandali

How it began

The mandali was formed in the 1990s by the youth and elders of the Mudhiraj community in Hunsa, who decided that the village deserved its own Ganesh mandapam — a place where every household, regardless of means, could offer prayers together. What began with a modest idol and a borrowed pandal has grown over the decades into eleven days of poojas, bhajans, Annadhanam and a grand visarjan procession for hundreds of devotees.

A living digital record

This website preserves memories beginning from 2024. Older celebrations live on in the hearts of our elders and the stories shared across generations; from 2024 onward, photographs, schedules and event details are collected here so future generations can see how the tradition continues.

Our mission

• Devotion first. Daily abhishekam, archana and aarti performed with tradition and discipline.
• Seva for all. Annadhanam and laddu prasadam offered freely to every visitor.
• Culture for the young. A stage for the children of Hunsa to sing, dance and learn our traditions.
• A living record. Every year's photographs and schedules preserved here for the generations after us.

1. 2024

   The first year preserved on this website. Nine days of pooja, bhajans, Annadhanam and a village-wide visarjan procession, organised entirely by youth and elders of Hunsa.

2. 2025

   A larger pandal, daily cultural programs by the children of Hunsa, and Annadhanam extended to neighbouring villages.
